This report confirms the successful completion of the small two-story lightweight log cabin project in the rural tourism area of Changzhou. Construction started on May 10 and was fully finished on August 25, adopting an assembled method for lightweight wood structures. The first floor (about 45㎡) includes a living room and kitchen, with spruce light timber frames (cross-section 80mm×120mm) and waterproof wooden siding; the second floor (about 35㎡) has two bedrooms and a small balcony, using eco-friendly wood-based panels for interior walls. All work complied with GB/T 51226-2017《Code for Design and Construction of Lightweight Wood Frame Buildings》.
A joint acceptance by the supervision unit, construction team, and owner was held on August 30. Inspections covered structural safety (no looseness in floor-to-ceiling timber connections), functional performance (normal operation of water, electricity, and stairs), and durability (no water seepage in the second-floor balcony after 24-hour rain simulation; indoor-outdoor temperature difference of 5-7℃ in thermal insulation tests). The assembled components aligned accurately, with no gaps in wall or floor joints.
This small two-story cabin meets the expected design goals, with its compact double-story layout fitting rural leisure needs. It is now ready for occupancy without rectification. The owner can move in after completing final handover procedures.
